Client Brief
Our client, enlisted our team to produce Stage 5 detailed mechanical design. The project involved a redevelopment of an existing multi-story dwelling spanning six floors, with stringent Heritage London complaince requirements.
What We Did
We provided a Stage 5 detailed mechanical design for the redevelopment of an existing multi-story dwelling spanning six floors (Lower Ground to Fourth).
Our team developed construction issue mechanical design layouts, ensuring seamless integration of services while aligning with planning and Heritage London requirements. We carried out heat loss calculations, ventilation ductwork design, and space heating system selection, producing equipment schedules and detailed service schematics where necessary. Additionally, we designed domestic hot and cold water pipework, above-ground drainage systems, and fire-stopping details for all services to meet compliance standards.
Our work included technical submissions, 2D CAD layouts, and liaison with planning authorities to support the building sign-off process. We also facilitated client engagement through a dedicated DTM meeting, incorporated consultant and client feedback, and conducted an initial site visit to establish service routing strategies, ensuring a well-coordinated and efficient design solution.
The Outcome
Our expertise in Stage 5 mechanical design ensured that the client received a fully coordinated and construction-ready solution, tailored to the unique challenges of redeveloping an existing dwelling. By carefully considering planning and Heritage London requirements, we provided a compliant and efficient design that met both regulatory and project-specific needs. Our detailed mechanical layouts, precise calculations, and thorough service schematics minimised potential site issues, streamlining the installation process. Additionally, our proactive engagement with planning authorities and client consultations helped address challenges early, reducing delays and ensuring a smooth transition from design to construction.
