Residential, Seabrook Road, Hythe
Client Brief
We were appointed to deliver the RIBA Stage 3 and Stage 5 Mechanical & Electrical design for a prestigious development of 48 luxury apartments, arranged across three residential blocks.
The client required coordinated, compliant, and efficient M&E solutions that supported the architectural vision while ensuring long-term performance. Close collaboration across all disciplines was essential due to the multi-block layout and complex residential systems.
What We Did
Our team progressed the project from Stage 3 concept design to a fully detailed Stage 5 technical package, including:
- RIBA Stage 3 & 5 Mechanical & Electrical design
- Main plant selection and plantroom strategy
- Service route coordination across all three blocks
- Technical review of the proposed Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) strategy
- Recommendations to optimise system efficiency and compliance
- MVHR system design for individual apartments
- Detailed technical apartment layouts and electrical distribution design
- Sitewide services co-ordination across all residential blocks
To ensure smooth delivery, we also undertook:
- Comprehensive design reviews to refine and develop the Stage 3 concept into a Stage 5 coordinated package
- Plant selection analysis to meet energy efficiency, performance, and compliance targets
- Coordination workshops to integrate mechanical and electrical services within tight residential footprints
- Cross-discipline collaboration aligning structural, architectural, and MEP requirements
- Sitewide services strategy planning for seamless system distribution across all blocks
The final result is a fully coordinated and technically robust M&E design package, delivering high-quality, energy-efficient homes while maintaining compliance, efficiency, and long-term operational performance.
