What We Did

We provided a comprehensive mechanical and electrical (M&E) design package for a new residential development comprising 28 one- and two-bedroom apartments across three floors. Our scope included detailed mechanical and electrical layouts, ensuring coordinated routes for pipe and cable sizing, along with equipment schedules for each flat type. We conducted heat loss calculations, ventilation ductwork design, and above-ground drainage layouts to optimise system performance. Additionally, we facilitated incoming utility coordination for water and electrical supplies, including metering and water tank sizing, while also designing lighting, low voltage (LV) systems, small power, CCTV, security, and fire alarm networks.

As part of our service, we produced 2D CAD layouts and relevant schematics, ensuring seamless integration of all building services. We also supported the project with a site visit, engagement with the client’s comments, and a design team meeting (DTM) to finalise the design and address any coordination requirements. Our work provided a fully coordinated M&E design, enabling efficient installation and compliance with all necessary regulations.

The Outcome

Our expertise in detailed M&E design and coordination ensured that the client received a fully optimised and compliant solution, reducing potential issues during construction and installation. By providing accurate pipe and cable sizing, coordinated service routes, and detailed equipment schedules, we helped streamline the build process, minimising delays and unexpected costs. Our proactive approach to utility coordination ensured that incoming water and electrical supplies were efficiently planned, while our comprehensive fire alarm, security, and lighting designs enhanced both safety and functionality. Through clear and precise 2D CAD layouts and schematics, along with our dedicated client engagement and site visit, we delivered a design that was both practical and cost-effective, allowing the project to progress smoothly from concept to implementation.
